Move forward as Senior WMS Engineer at DSV in Almelo

Turn logistics processes into smart WMS solutions and see your work in action on the warehouse floor. At DSV in Almelo, you take the technical lead on projects, from the first customer conversation and application design through to go-live.

A WMS that works in practice starts with understanding what customers and colleagues need. Translating those needs into solutions for our new warehouse in Almelo and our Eastern Netherlands region: you’re on it.

How you do this? As a senior WMS engineer, you look at the entire process flow and ask the questions needed to clarify requirements and project scope. You translate process designs into functional and technical application designs within the CargoWrite WMS suite, using Blue Yonder Dispatcher. You work closely with project managers, process engineers, IT teams and customers. You take the technical lead, act as a point of contact for colleagues and contribute directly to building and testing solutions. You achieve this by:

• identifying customer needs and defining requirements and scope, looking across departments and assessing the impact on processes and systems;
• translating process flows into functional and technical application designs and building and configuring WMS solutions within CargoWrite;
• carrying out FAT testing and supporting system, integration and acceptance testing, customer implementations and go-lives;
• providing technical direction for WMS projects and changes, sharing your expertise and maintaining quality, documentation and performance.

You will have trust and responsibility, with the freedom to develop the right design together with customers and colleagues. You will be based in Almelo. You will also contribute to projects for other warehouses in the Eastern Netherlands and work on site when a project requires it.

You bring

• bachelor’s-level knowledge and skills, for example in logistics, supply chain or ICT, and preferably at least 3 years of experience in WMS engineering or a similar role;
• knowledge of warehouse processes and SQL, plus experience configuring or implementing WMS systems, with Blue Yonder Dispatcher experience an advantage;
• experience working with customers to define requirements and scope, asking probing questions and translating logistics needs into a suitable application design;
• • a good command of written and spoken English, preferably complemented by Dutch, and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly and take the technical lead.
