Job Posting Title: Senior HR Specialist, Benefits Analyst 
Time Type: Full-Time


This position is part of a HR Shared Services Team with particular focus on the data integrity and billing of benefit and HR related expenses. The Benefits Analyst will review enrollment data in the carrier systems against DSV’s enrollment system to ensure plans and coverage levels are setup correctly, as well as the employee’s division. Responsible for preparing billing information for finance to allocate costs to the appropriate division and cost centers, requesting payment on invoices timely, monitoring payments are made accordingly and notifying finance of funding that will be drafted from their bank accounts. Will monitor system integrations to ensure accurate transfer of data based on the established schedule. Handles or is backup on the 401k administration process to include contribution reconciliation and processing, payroll system deduction updates and participant data updates and errors. Works with payroll to closely monitor and update benefit information for employees transferring between divisions to ensure smooth transition. Supports the annual ACA reporting process and may contribute to other compliance related activities. Updates employee information in ADP and participates in the open enrollment and new hire benefit enrollment processes.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process benefit and HR related bills to include reconciliation of charges to ensure accuracy, preparation of summary by division and cost center for finance to allocate costs, and submission and tracking of payments to ensure bills are paid on time.
  • Monitor system integrations from ADP to various vendors, analyze errors and work with vendors to correct issues for future integration files
  • Backup for 401k contributions on a weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly schedule, reconciling payroll reports against contribution files, preparing a summary for finance to notify them of charges they will see in their accounts, and applying funding to files timely to ensure compliance. 
  • Backup for monitoring and correcting participant setup errors in the 401k system, working with HR partners when needed to correct information in Employee Central to prevent future errors, and update 401k contribution and loan deductions in ADP on a weekly basis
  • Process state specific workers compensation billing ensuring payment is on-time with no exceptions. 
  • Work with Benefits Supervisor and vendors to provide information needed for annual ACA reporting for all divisions. 
  • Work with payroll to identify employees transferring between divisions to ensure all benefit deductions are transferred over to their new profile and no deductions are missed on their paychecks. 
  • Audit employee enrollments in vendor systems against the data in DSV’s enrollment system to ensure employees are in the correct plan, division, and all dependents are enrolled as they elected. 
  • Update and maintain employee benefit eligibility codes in ADP, and handle ADP approvals needed for qualified life events, new hire enrollments and voluntary life enrollments. 
  • Track new hire documentation for dependents enrolling in benefit plans, as well as for new dependents added during open enrollment. 
  • Send and track evidence of insurability forms needed for voluntary life enrollments, and manage the process with Guardian 
  • Process medical support orders received in the mail and via the HR helpdesk
  • Handle benefit changes related to rehires and division transfers to ensure seamless transition to new profile. 

Other Duties

  • Cross train with other team members to provide support and coverage during absences
  • Assist with special projects or new implementations as well as during annual open enrollment. 
  • May be responsible for some compliance reporting as needed


Educational background / Work experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field and 5 years’ experience working in a benefit analyst related field required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
