Warehouse Team Lead


Assist department manager and supervisor(s) in leading the warehouse in all operational disciplines and ensure operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Assist Supervisor in training the staff on warehouse procedures, cargo handling, loading/unloading and packing (if applicable)
•    Supervises, coordinates, provide leadership, and reviews the work of assigned staff in the day-to-day departmental operations
•    Meets company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, quality, leadership, and customer service
•    Adheres to specific warehouse work instructions for receiving, labeling, storing, shipping and value add services as required in accordance to DSV Air & Sea standard policies and procedures
•    Complies with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site specific policies, safety rules, Pharmaceutical Regulations, TSA Regulations, US Customs Regulations and OSHA/ MSDS Standards
•    Assist management in continuous training and education of the department staff and supervise cross-training
•    Works with the warehouse management and freight forwarding teams to identify areas to improve/enhance overall service to the client
•    Fills in vacant staffing gaps as needed to ensure deadlines and expectations are met
•    Recommend process improvements and implementing changes in procedures to improve the warehouse area and operating efficiency
•    Monitor and coordinate work flow for freight movement
•    Maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications at all times.
•    Follows safety and security procedures and identify / report safety violations 
•    Responsible for maintaining an organized and clean warehouse and work areas
•    Monitor and control warehouse equipment and supplies
•    Control/monitor proper documentation and labeling
•    Other duties as requested


Skills and Requirements:

•    High school diploma (or equivalent)
•    Fluent in English language (verbal and written)
•    Minimum of one year relevant work experience in customer service and logistics 
•    Forklift experience / certification
•    Proficiency in basic MS Office applications and typing accurately
•    Preferred knowledge using Warehouse Management Systems
•    Basic mathematical skill level required to verify inventory, order accuracy, and other quality driven initiatives.
•    Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
•    Detail oriented, organized and able to effectively manage multiple priorities
•    Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communication orally and in writing
•    High level of customer service skills
