Job tasks and responsibilities

The Warehouse Operator, Logistics plays an integral part in the logistic supply chain, ensuring customers goods are picked and packed as required and that all associated paperwork is completed as per procedures. This position will also be required to assist with the loading/unloading of trucks on occasions as directed by the Warehouse Manager and Supervisor.

Major tasks include but not limited to:

  • Operate forklifts for order picking and stock replenishment.
  • Interpret information contained on picking slip to locate stock and pick to fulfill customer orders.
  • Unloading/loading of vehicles and movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy when picking stock, and performing stock takes and cycle counts.
  • Enter and update information in computer system.
  • Follow operational procedures at all times.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and conduct daily safety checks.
  • Report any spillages, damaged or suspicious goods.
  • Receiving and handling of freight safely and efficiently
  • Report all incidents/accidents/near misses without delay.
  • Picking and packing of orders
  • Partaking in regular stocktakes
  • Communicating to key stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Identifying current or potential issues in regards to OHS
  • Enter and update information in CargoWise One when out turning freight
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers/transport carriers
  • Support the warehouse manager by following all operational procedures
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and conduct daily safety checks

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 Years' experience and industry knowledge in a similar role
  • Experience loading & unloading containers
  • Flexi experience preferred
  • Reach Forklift Licence and pick-packing experience
  • OHS focused
  • DG experience is advantageous
  • Communicating information
  • Processing details (meeting deadlines, finishing tasks, checking things, ensuring accuracy, following procedures, minimising risks)
  • Building relationships (establishing rapport, interacting with people)
