Purpose of Position
The BD role is responsible for driving customer growth by selling end-to-end and value-added solutions across all products, delivering a superior customer experience within the Branch. The BD will also focus on developing new customers with potential in the Northern Region.
Key Tasks
Sales Management
- Ensure adherence to all global sales policies, processes, and guidelines.
Customer Engagement
- Drive growth of existing and new accounts through collaboration with Sales and Product functions.
- Strengthen customer relationships through stakeholder engagement within the Branch.
- Focus on selling comprehensive solutions aligned with the Account Growth Plan.
- Engage directly with key decision-makers within the Business Unit.
Sales Planning
- Conduct daily cold calls and customer visits to generate and qualify leads, building an opportunity pipeline.
- Propose targets for new accounts not currently trading with the company to drive business growth.
Sales Review
- Participate in weekly reviews of account pipelines, activities, and performance, including ad hoc opportunities and RFQs.
- Monitor trading performance (up-trading, down-trading, loss-making, and newly gained trade lanes) monthly, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure timely escalation of any concerns or complaints to relevant stakeholders or departments.
Collaboration and Transparency
- Foster collaboration among all product departments within the Branch.
- Ensure understanding and support for the account growth plan across the Branch.
- Utilize MS Dynamics for all opportunities, including timely sales cycle entries, volume settings, and flagging.
Processes, Risk & QHSE Compliance
- Maintain SLAs and SOPs on SharePoint/ShareDrive.
- Lead contract negotiations in line with company policy, ensuring proper storage of signed contracts and addendums in the contract management system.
- Improve data quality in MS Dynamics.
- Perform tasks that support the company's quality, health, safety, and environmental objectives as documented in SharePoint, following all QHSE policy requirements.
- Ensure daily activities promote sustainability, health, and safety, minimize environmental impact, support community involvement, and reduce workplace incidents.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or Logistics preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years in a sales role; fresh graduates will be considered.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in languages relevant to assigned accounts is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft® Office Software (Excel®, Word, PowerPoint®).
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ownership of account management (performance, financials, operational excellence).
- Understanding of customer expectations, constraints, and strategies, adapting approaches as necessary.
- Awareness and responsiveness to market trends and industry developments.
