You get it done
In Bergen op Zoom, we manage the packaging process of raw materials for the further production of plastics for one of our largest clients. This involves materials like granules that are packaged by DSV into bags, big bags, or containers and prepared for shipment. Together with your four team members, you ensure that this entire packaging process runs smoothly in your shift. You are an active participant in this process.

How do you achieve this? You ensure that your team members (three operators and one operations planner) work in a safe environment and adhere to all safety standards. In the event of disruptions or issues in the production or packaging process, you are the first point of contact. You don't shy away from challenges! You quickly address any problems or breakdowns to ensure that the production process resumes promptly. This could include issues with the (packaging) machines, the production line or a problem with a carrier. There are various workstations in the production process and it’s your responsibility to monitor these stations and the production line effectively. With your keen eye and proactive approach, you ensure that the operators can continue their work and that the production line does not come to a halt.
Besides being a pillar of support for your team and a troubleshooter, you conduct periodic meetings to update the Warehouse Manager, maintain accurate administration and ensure a seamless schedule. Occasionally, you also actively participate in the production and packaging process, for example, by operating a machine or moving goods with the forklift. You inspire and motivate your team members and have a collaborative leadership style. In short, the ‘Central Packaging’ department is in your capable hands. You achieve this by:
 

• coordinating the tasks to be performed by the technical/maintenance department;
• working in a 7-day schedule, followed by 4 days off;
• distributing and scheduling daily operational tasks;
• complying with and ensuring adherence to legal, company and safety regulations.

You bring
 

• at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role and a motivating work attitude;
• willingness to work in 3 shifts within a 5-team schedule, working 31.5 hours per week (shift times are from 06:00 – 14:30, 14:00 – 22:30, and 22:00 – 06:30);
• a relevant education at MBO level 3 or 4 (Operator A);
• possessing an Operator A, forklift certificate and VCA VOL, or willingness to obtain these;
• good command of both Dutch and English.
