SUMMARY

As a Senior Warehouse Management System (WMS) Developer you are responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of our tailor-made tooling / functionalities complementing the DSV Warehouse Management solution.  This position fits within a larger global organization focused on delivering best in class products in support of DSV customers and related business units.    From warehouse automation to the warehousing at its most basic form, this position will span the spectrum of solutions and versatility which will at times require some travel both domestically and internationally (15%).    

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Design, develop and maintain WMS and related applications according to set standards.
  • Identify and specify required changes on applications.
  • Develop test plans, scenario’s, and secure successful execution.
  • Validate, test, and accept version/releases of software.
  • Effectively collaborate with (project) team members, stakeholders, key-users and DSV management.
  • Document the project and application landscape and configuration to secure that proper support can be delivered.
  • Identify, report and follow-up on issues.
  • Provide on-call support sharing a call schedule with the team you are a part of.   This will at times be across some evenings and some weekends.

 

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES

 

  • Strong PL/SQL development skills
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Oracle DBMS
  • Experience with .NET development (VB, C#)
  • Strong logistics and WMS knowledge (experience with RedPrairie Dispatcher/DLX is preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills and techniques to evaluate, interpret, and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong creativity that provides innovative concepts to the problem or design.
  • Vast experience in software development including testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Experience with architectural design (TOGAF) is preferred.
  • Fluency in the SDLC

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of 8 years working as a professional Engineer developing solutions using the languages specified above.  
  • 6 years Oracle or SQL Server experience to include an understanding of query tuning and database optimization.
