We are looking for a Customs Specialist who will be reliable, accurate and timely servicing of customs administration processes, including export, transit and import documents, Intrastat, support for financial settlements (Fiscal Representation), control / registration of authorizations, and resolution of complaints. As an experienced team member, the specialist is responsible for: conducting training, creating process documentation, streamlining, automating, optimizing and standardizing processes, monitoring the quality of team’s work and analysing potential errors. The specialist is required to be familiar with and active in all processes handled within a given country, which must be supported by periodic results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process customs documentation accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with applicable procedures and regulations.
  • Apply knowledge of product tariff classification and calculate customs duties and taxes.
  • Monitor, communicate, and share updates on customs and tax regulations within the team.
  • Contribute to process optimization, standardization initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide timely support and responses to inquiries from DSV departments, branches, and internal/external customers.
  • Maintain accurate administrative handling of customs declarations, including archiving and data management in relevant systems.
  • Support onboarding, training, mentoring ("Buddy" role), and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
  • Act as backup for the Process Specialist in selected tasks and responsibilities.
  • Report on process-related matters, work quality, efficiency, and compliance to the Team Leader or designated stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality audits and ensure timely achievement of objectives in line with established procedures.
  • Actively participate in projects, meetings, and cross-functional initiatives while providing professional support to colleagues.
  • Continuously develop professional expertise through training and self-learning.
  • Promote compliance, safeguard company assets, and report irregularities or misconduct.
  • Perform all duties professionally, in accordance with DSV policies, procedures, values, and organizational culture.

 

Qualifications:

  • Higher education preferred (faculties: Customs, Transport, Logistics, Law, Administration or related).
  • Knowledge of the English language at min. B2 level.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work under time pressure.
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate in an international environment.
  • Ability to effectively share knowledge and experience with other team members to improve own and co-workers' competences.
  • Ability to present data and prioritize.
