We are looking for a Customs Team Lead who will be responsible for managing subordinate team and ensuring the highest quality support for all customs administration processes. Efficient and effective management, organization and supervision of the work handled by subordinate employees. Achieving goals and objectives based on internal indicators. Controlling and improving both quality and efficiency standards of the services provided. Standardization, optimization and automation of processes. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Leading a team within the customs administration department, cooperation with international customers of the DSV group. 
  • Co-creation, optimization, automation, standardization of internal processes. 
  • Activation of respective team members in the field of optimization and automation of internal processes. 
  • Coordination of the process of collecting and verifying the necessary customs and tax information (verification and implementation of current legal regulations). 
  • Identification of irregularities / inaccuracies in customs documentation and ensuring appropriate communication to the customs authorities. 
  • Defining KPIs/SLAs. 
  • Monitoring the process of preparing and delivering required documents, and ensuring their correctness. 
  • Monitoring the quality and timeliness of services provided with accordance to SLAs. 
  • Supervision over the correct circulation of documents and data archiving. 
  • Cooperation with DSV branches and customers (external / internal) within DSV ISSC. 
  • Delegating and monitoring the implementation of assigned tasks and objectives. 
  • Efficient and optimal use of available resources. 
  • Creating, implementing and monitoring the correctness of instructions and procedures within the managed area.
  • Reporting the status of services performed in a team to the superior and respective business partners.  
  • Creating reports, summaries and stats related to a given team. 
  • Co-creation of the budget assessment and responsibility for its realization in the managed area. 
  • Monitoring, controlling and taking care for results in terms of costs/profits/losses, and reporting them to the supervisor (P&L). 
  • Setting goals independently, delegating tasks and controlling their implementation. 
  • Taking active actions towards increasing process knowledge in the team. 
  • Planning, coordination of holidays and work schedules. 
  • Identification of training needs in the subordinate team. 
  • Identification of talents in the team. 
  • Realization of tasks within the QMS area and implementation of solutions aimed at improving the quality of the processes. 
  • Creating reports on DSV's request (internal and external). 
  • Implementation of quality audits in accordance with applicable rules and procedures. 
  • Periodic evaluation of employees. 
  • Tasks related to the recruitment of new employees / termination notices - conducting meetings, cooperation with the HR department regarding the availability of relevant documentation and the realization of contracts. 
  • Regular meetings with team members, promoting a performance feedback culture. 
  • Providing operational support as needed.
  • Creating an organizational culture based on values such as Trust, Transparency, Excellence, Continuous Learning. 
  • Supporting other employees with professional knowledge. 
  • Improving professional qualifications through participation in training and continuous self-education.
  • Prevention of waste, theft, disclosure of irregularities and abuses to the detriment of the Company. 
  • Observance of trade and business secrets. 
  • Ensuring that subordinate employees follow work discipline and are compliant with the internal regulations in force in the Company.  
  • Performing all the above in a professional manner, in accordance with the rules, procedures, instructions, regulations and organizational culture applicable in the Company. 
  • Behaviors and attitudes consistent with DSV Values.
  • Organization of work, issuing executive orders to the subordinate team. 
  • Taking independent decisions within the managed area (subordinate team). 
  • Proposing changes and after obtaining formal consent of the Department Manager / Business Unit Director, taking actions in matters relating to: organizational changes, improving and determining the necessary resources, changes to increase operational efficiency. 
  • Cooperation with the Department Manager, Business Unit Director to ensure realization of objectives set out in the budget, SLAs and quality policy. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in managing a Team (minimum 2 years of experience on a similar position). 
  • Knowledge of EU customs regulations. 
  • Experience in project work. 
  • Experience in one of the following areas: logistics, customs administration, transport, law, taxes. 
  • Knowledge of the English language at min. C1 level.
  • Higher education preferred (faculties: Transport, Logistics, Law, Administration or related). 
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate in an international environment. 
  • Team building skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks. 
  • Pro-activity, holistic approach, management in accordance with the SMART methodology. 
  • Willingness to develop, use the best practices and maintain the highest quality documentation/process standard. 
  • Openness to changes and varied tasks.
