Main Purpose of The Role:

To recruit, lead, grow and develop a high-performance staff for both the new business and retention teams. Priority objective is to grow the branch by achieving new business and retention growth targets


Minimum Requirements:

5 years People Management experience

10 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding

7 years Client Facing Experience



Matric (essential)

Sales / Marketing / Supply Chain or Logistics Management Qualification (Advantageous)


Computer packages

Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure business retention within the Business through continuous growth, innovation and quantified value thereby ensuring client-centric relationships
  • Lead the Team in line with the company's strategic initiatives within and across business units. 
  • Lead and manage the team to protect the existing profitable clients through a specific process in terms of account management to ensure sustainability and growth of the business.
  • Ensure growth of the existing client base by implementing appropriate increases timeously.    
  • Develop and initiate industry and product relevant solutions and best practice to differentiate DSV as market leaders. 
  • Manage and lead the Team based on performance measurements to ensure profitable growth, service excellence and client centricity. 
  • Ensure service excellence by recruiting and developing high performance team members. 
  • Compile budgets in order to forecast accurately and plan for sales and operational planning. 
  • Ensure business retention within a business unit through continuous growth, innovation and quantified value thereby ensuring client-centric relationships

  • To recruit, lead, grow and develop a high-performance Team for both the new business and retention teams

  • To lead, support, coach and develop a team of field salespersons, ensuring that the required new business targets are met as a result of the gaining profitable new clients
  • Attain new business in the Western Cape area
  • Service and maintain existing clients in Western Cape
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends
  • Provide Quality leads to salespersons
  • To hold prospecting blitz’s and run various campaigns to accelerate the process of gaining new business
  • To assist and support the sales team in preparing and delivering proposals, tenders and presentations to potential clients that are of a high standard
  • Ensure required monthly and accumulative targets are met
  • To compile and oversee the completion of required weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
  • To ensure the adherence by the Team with established policies and procedures
  • Maintenance and driving of activity levels
  • Building of industry and product knowledge in order to benefit clients and organization
  • Maintain high levels of energy and build a motivational mindset
