DSV Air & Sea is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Freight Forwarder, Operations in Christchurch.
The position is responsible for liaising with customers & suppliers in an effective and timely manner whilst directing, compiling and completing the necessary documentation within the operations (import/export) team. This position is required to ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time role with 40 working hours per week.
Key Tasks:
• Work together with import & export team to ensure quality and accuracy of work delivered
• Carry out import/export workflow processes in accordance with management directive, customer instructions, SOPs, and specified requirements
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships with DSV customers (internal and external), suppliers and service providers both locally and overseas.
• Communicate (verbal and written) with customers, suppliers, and other team members to obtain information or communicate issues.
• Solve issues relating to information recorded on documents, calculations of costings and load size.
• Plan and prioritize shipments from the import/export workbench to achieve milestone requirements, designated KPIs and deadlines.
• Handle operations issues with a range of stakeholders including but not to limited: airlines, shipping lines, transport providers, co-loaders and customers.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding (air and/or sea) with a strong understanding of logistics operations.
• Bachelors or Diploma in Operations & Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, ensuring seamless client interactions.
• Strong numeracy skills, including monetary calculations and weight measurements.
• Proven ability to plan and coordinate tasks to achieve desired outcomes within strict timeframes.
• Experience using CargowiseOne for efficient freight management and operations.
