The Benefits Supervisor provides strategic consulting and administration to DSV US business divisions (Air & Sea, Road, 4PL, Solutions, and Puerto Rico), providing insights and resolutions for benefits related issues. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations is required.




•       Provides consulation and administration of benefits programs

•       Administration of company retirement plans (401K and Non-Qualified), including weekly contribution uploads, payroll changes, integration error resolution, and finance summary report generation

•       Provides daily supervision and support of the HRSS staff in Clark, NJ

•       Fully trained on the auditing and processing of all benefit vendor invoices

•       Understands the complexities between the various vendor systems, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors and Finance

•       Thoroughly trained as back up on ADP Benefits module

•       Manages Open Enrollment for US and Puerto Rico

•       Conducts bi-weekly new hire orientation for all divisions

•       Generates COBRA new hire and term reports and monitors subsidies/integrations

•       Assigns benefit eligibility codes in ADP

•       Monitors and coordinates rehire benefits

•       Responds to escalated benefits inquiries from Shared Services and business unit inquiries regarding benefits related issues.

•       Creates training programs and communications for business units to ensure understanding of benefits programs and program changes.

•       Monitors benefits trends, create dashboards and partner with peer groups to proactively address benefits issues in the business units.

•       Ensures the synchronization of data between system of record and benefit enrollment system.

•       Monitor and update employee eligibility status for enrollment and ACA purposes

•       Oversee and participate in the management of system integrations with carriers

•      Coordinates benefit-related compliance responsibilities such as 5500 reporting, SAR distribution, nondiscrimination testing and backup on the 401k audit.

•      Manage and oversee the COBRA integration, subsidy and administration of the program with the vendor

•       Effectively handles information and reports while maintaining the strictest confidentiality

•       Critically reviews and analyzes current benefits procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations

•       Complies with country legal requirements by being knowledgeable of existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements and making changes to the policies and processes

•       Directs audits and/or audit benefits continuously

•       Communicates actively with Operations, HR, Finance and Accounting to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing

•       Manages regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports

•       Conducts all year end and quarterly benefits processing requirements

•       Manages in partnership with Senior Manager HRSS, all benefits related vendors (i.e. brokers)

•       Partners with HRBPs to understand unique business unit needs or concerns, conduct market research to validate/address concerns, and develop recommendations as needed

•       Creates training programs and communications for business units to ensure understanding of benefits programs and program changes. Partners with HRBPs for rollout and on-going training

Education and/or Experience

•       Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

•       At least 5 years’ management experience

•       Minimum 4 years of experience in Human Resources with a focus in benefits

•       Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to employee benefits and employee pay

•       Knowledge of retirement plans (401k and NonQualified)

•       Experience with relevant HR systems, applications, and tools; metrics, data, and business intelligence tactics

Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.  May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.  Hours can be extensive as well as occasionally staggered for multi-shift access.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.  The employee uses computer and telephone equipment.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Minimal travel maybe required for this role domestically and internationally.




While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
