Move forward as a Customer Service Specialist Road Transport at DSV in Dordrecht
We are expanding! For our driven team of enthusiasts at DSV Road, we are looking for a self-starter and proactive colleague. We have openings for both junior and mid-level positions. Have you completed a logistics education but do not have any work experience yet? With us, you'll find opportunities and possibilities! What will you be doing? Organizing transportation for all groupage shipments to Spain, Portugal, Norway, and Finland. The great thing about this role is that you will be responsible for the shipment and delivery from start to finish. That is what you do!


You get it done
Yes, another booking has come in, so it's time to get to work. In this case, the customer wants to transport two pallets from the Netherlands to Madrid. You contact the customer, discuss all the details regarding the pallet shipments, and then coordinate with your colleagues in distribution planning. This department ensures that the two pallets are picked up from the customer and delivered to the DSV warehouse in Venlo or Dordrecht. From one of these storage locations, further transport to the final destination is handled by our planning department. During this journey to the final destination in Madrid, you are responsible for ensuring timely and careful delivery at the destination.

How do you do this? Together with your colleagues, you are actively involved daily in processing and managing groupage shipments to Spain, Portugal, Norway, and Finland. The pleasant and open team spirit fosters great cooperation and everyone is ready to help each other. From customer contact and order processing to troubleshooting en route and ensuring timely and correct delivery, everything is aimed at optimal customer satisfaction. In short, you process and monitor all shipments to these four countries until our DSV colleagues take over from you or until the shipment reaches its final destination. You achieve this by:  

 

  • Processing incoming transport requests and booking transports in our TMS, CargoLink; 
  • having contact with customers and other DSV divisions in NL and internationally, your colleagues of local planning and cross-dock departments in Dordrecht/Venlo; 
  • Monitoring shipments, tracking their statuses and informing customers about them to their satisfaction;
  • Quickly responding to and addressing issues that arise en route to the final destination. Think of delays caused by a broken-down vehicle or missed ferries or traffic jams. You inform the customer and find an appropriate solution to get the shipment to its destination as quickly as possible; 
  • Completing your work in day shifts from Monday to Friday.
