BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENT : Matric or equivalent


TERTIARY QUALIFICATION: Advantage - Supply Chain or similar qualification





Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Management role overseeing a team and international shipments dispatched into Sub Saharan Africa.

Must have experience in invoicing shipments, arranging pre-inspections and dispatch compliance.

Must have a good understanding of clearing instructions, documentation requirements and custom duties.  

Ability to work under pressure and deal with clients.

Punctuality & time management skills essential.

Be able to work irregular hours, and overtime when required (including Saturdays).

Possess strong interpersonal skills.

Enjoy working as a team.

Organizational skills & ability to communicate with clients on all levels.

Strong Management & People skills.

Be prepared to undergo random polygraph and surveillance examinations.

Be prepared to undergo credit and criminal checks



Previous experience in an Automotive environment



This job entails managing KPI’s, QMS/Quality, Work Instructions, Processes, CIP and OHS of a small team according to quality standards, work instructions, processes, DSV policies/procedures and VWSA Group Guidelines.

The role requires the successful candidate to manage and take overall responsibility for international shipments into Sub Saharan Africa.  This will include preparing shipments, preparing invoices including freight and insurance, pre-inspections according to requirements and accurate shipments dispatched on time. To provide a safe and healthy environment for all to work in. To deliver high standard of customer service and endeavor to meet customer needs.




Invoicing of customer orders as per DSV/VWSA requirements

On time parts inspection from external service providers (BV, SGS, Intertek etc)

On time departure of all shipments (delays to be communicated to Dealers)

Ensure  the invoice, matches the manifest, matches what is being loaded and dispatched

Ensure 100% Quality Audits of all parts in accordance with Quality standards and VWSA Group Guidelines

Maintain Work Instructions/processes and ensure all competent

Adhere to and manage employees in accordance with policies, procedures and industrial relations

Maintain all Quality standards and requirements

Maintain all OHS standards and requirements

Continuous Improvement of operational processes

Consistent meetings and presentations with client to be effectively executed

Maintain housekeeping, 5S and 9 types of waste

Achieve required results in all VWSA and DSV Audits

Training and competence – Ensure all employees are trained and competent in all Work Instructions, Processes and VWSA Group guidelines

Code of conduct – Ensure to manage all employees effectively and timeously against the DSV/LB code of conduct

Maintain high morale and team spirit through continuous coaching and communication

Stay in touch with SSA markets to address concerns and to share action plans

Implementation of effective processes for new export countries
