Job Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and overseeing the coordination of shipments via road, air, and sea, ensuring efficient, cost-effective transportation. This role involves liaising with suppliers, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth communication, timely deliveries, and accurate invoicing, without being directly involved in the hands-on operational aspects of transportation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Shipment Coordination (Road, Air, and Sea):
    • Coordinate and monitor the movement of goods through road, air, and sea transportation modes.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company, customers, suppliers, and logistics service providers.
    • Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure shipments are scheduled, dispatched, and delivered on time.
    • Track and follow up on shipments, providing updates to customers and internal teams as needed.
    • Ensure that all necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, air waybills, shipping manifests) is prepared and shared with relevant stakeholders.
  2. Communication and Liaison:
    • Act as a liaison between Neom project teams and DSV 3PL divisions to ensure smooth logistics operations.
    • Handle communications between stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise during transport or delivery.
    • Maintain strong relationships with all logistics partners to ensure high service levels and long-term partnerships.
  3. Cost Optimization and Rate Negotiation:
    • Assist in negotiating rates and contracts for services falling under project logistics procurement
    • Provide data and insights to management regarding logistics costs and help identify opportunities for cost reductions.
  4. Invoicing and Billing Coordination:
    • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure all shipping-related invoices are prepared and processed correctly.
    • Verify and approve shipping invoices by cross-referencing shipment details, contracts, and delivery records.
    • Resolve any discrepancies related to billing and work with customers and vendors to facilitate timely payments.
    • Communicate billing terms and conditions to customers, ensuring transparency throughout the process.
  5. Customer Support and Satisfaction:
    • Coordinate with Neom project teams to provide shipment status updates, delivery timelines, and resolve any issues related to shipping.
    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries related to shipments, delivery, and invoicing.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing any potential delays or issues with shipments.
  6. Technology and Reporting:
    • Use logistics management systems and tools to monitor shipment progress and provide accurate reports to stakeholders.
    • Generate reports on shipping performance, costs, and other key logistics metrics for management review.
    • Stay updated with new technology trends in logistics coordination and recommend solutions for improved efficiency.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in logistics coordination or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in logistics management software and systems.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with road, air, and sea transportation regulations.
