SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing common transportation processes and driving continuous improvement within client supply chains.  The Senior Manager: implements multifaceted transportation solutions based on an understanding of client needs, IT System Capabilities, distribution network strategy, transportation strategy, Road Operations Best Practices, Manufacturing strategy and Inventory Management strategy. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Capability to assess client RFQ-documents and analyses requirements for implementation
  • Compiles data and information needs and obtain input from clients
  • Reviews requirements and reconcile with internal capabilities jointly with operations and IT, consider local environment (regulations, practices etc.)
  • Compiles and interprets complex cost models and translate into clients’ rate-structures
  • Conducts process reviews in existing operations and identify operational improvement potentials
  • Conducts workshops to identify operational performance issues and propose / design improvements / new processes & solutions
  • Conducts contract (re-) negotiations and budget & cost (re-) calculations with clients and suppliers
  • Presents solutions, processes and pricing to clients
  • Participates in the “Advance Quality Process” to bridge between the solutions and implementation phase
  • Aligns & Implements QMS Principles according common industry standards
  • Engages in designing regional best practices for the work-areas outlined in the job description
  • Brings cross-functional teams together to collaborate on projects
  • Ensures alignment among all operations’ policies, procedures and ongoing improvement projects

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (IF ANY)

  • Full Personnel Responsibility to Lead, develop, and coach team of employees 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 
Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or experience in lieu of education.
  • 5 years’ of experience  in transportation logistics or related field with experience in:
    • Process analysis and design (familiar with relevant methods and tools) 
    • Cost calculation (pricing)
    • Presentation of solutions at clients
    • Design of process integrating KPI’s, service metrics, productivity benchmarks and identification of root causes

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills

  • Proficient with JDA Transportation Modeler system
  • Proficient with standard analysis tools (MS Office)

  • English language fluency (verbal, reading, writing).

Mathematical Skills

  • Advanced
