IT Supporter 

 

Are you interested in having a career in I.T.  This is an opportunity to join I.T. Operations and Services where you will work in Business Services offering support for the business and our colleagues in Group I.T. 

 

UK Business Services is currently looking for a new I.T. Supporter to join our Harwich team and provide essential support to the business and other colleagues in the I.T. organization. 

Your primary responsibility will be supporting DSV's main Transport Management Systems (TMS) and local applications. As these systems are extensive, we understand that the successful candidate may not have expertise in all the areas and systems we support. Therefore, much of the training will be on-the-job with the support of your colleagues. 

Key Responsibilities: - 

  • Provide technical support for DSV's Transport Management Systems (TMS) and other services. 

  • Covering anything from Operations to Finance. 

  • Handle all support issues using our support tool – ServiceNow. 

  • Create, update, and use knowledge articles (Knowledge Controlled Services – KCS). 

  • Work within standard service level agreements. 

  • Communicate effectively with users, management, and other IT teams to ensure everyone is informed about any issues and progress. 

  • Collaborate with other IT team members to assist in testing. 

  • Ensure timely completion of all administrative tasks for systems such as Time Registration or Project Management. 

You should have a strong focus on providing support to both internal and external customers and always communicate in a professional manner. Possessing good interpersonal and customer care skills is essential, and you should maintain a consistently professional demeanour. 

 

Ideally, you will have an analytical and systematic approach to identifying and solving problems. Additionally, you should be open to learning about the transport industry and the systems we use to run the business. 

Being comfortable working both independently and as part of a team is important, and you should be willing to work flexible hours to meet business demands when required. 

 

The successful Candidate will preferably have: - 

  • 2+ years of previous experience working in the transport/forwarding industry. 

  • Knowledge of some DSV working processes. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • An inquisitive mind and willingness to ask questions. 

Salary is negotiable based on experience.
