Job Req Number:  112895
Time Type: Full Time

Are you ready to own and safeguard the integrity of the data within your domain, bridging the gap between business needs and data products in a global leader in transport and logistics?

Then join us just as we are building our brand-new Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), ensuring that our data is continuously accurate, event-driven, and updated in real time – and your efforts will contribute directly to making this happen.

“You will join us in the middle of a massive transformation as we consolidate data governance as a discipline and continue to raise the bar. So, you will be able to sense your impact from day one – and it will only grow from there,” says your new manager, Peter Strand.

Join an inclusive team with a massive impact

You will join the Data Management & Governance team within Enterprise Data Excellence, where we aim to unlock the full potential of data at an enterprise level. This means that we are responsible for data management and governance within DSV as a corporation.

Your new team consists of 11 colleagues, 8 of them data stewards like yourself. In general, we are a diverse group in terms of nationality, seniority, and professional backgrounds – and we excel at using this to our advantage.

“We value and welcome different perspectives, and we appreciate that every one of us adds something unique,” Peter continues.

Own and optimize the data within your domain

You will enhance data quality, enforce data governance policies, and act as the custodian of enterprise data within your assigned domain on the EDP. Working with reference, meta and master data, you will ensure that industry standards are followed and translate business needs into data enrichment rules.

Along the way, you will collaborate closely with the rest of the domain squad, including the squad leader and various stakeholders across business, IT, and data functions. You will also join our Data Steward and Governance Chapter, which gives you plenty of peers to consult with.

Some of your tasks will be to:

  • Define, monitor, and enforce data quality rules, thresholds, and metrics as well as perform root cause analysis of data quality issues and provide transparency for data health
  • Document and manage data lineage, catalogues, and glossaries within your domain, as well as understand and develop the domain data life cycle, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support the standardization of data models and ensure that they accurately reflect business semantics and data ownership
  • Proactively identify data quality risks and propose preventive measures to safeguard data integrity
  • Validate and enrich data during onboarding and integration activities to ensure usability across different contexts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for data-related queries, issues, and change requests within your assigned domain, ensuring a federated governance model and data mesh mindset across the enterprise

You create data excellence through others

You do not need experience from a setup with our scope and complexity.

The important thing is that you can independently build long-term, fruitful business relationships with various stakeholders, no matter their position. This includes comfortably leading workshops, facilitating discussions, and driving outcomes to ensure alignment.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have a master’s degree in information management or equivalent
  • Have 3-4  years of experience with data management or data product stewardship
  • Understand data architecture, governance, and lifecycle management
  • Are familiar with agile/scrum methodologies as well as data platforms, analytics tools, and cloud technologies
  • Might have knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), but this is only an advantage
