This position is responsible for the overall business and financial operation of all airfreight related activities for the branch. As well as leading a team of air freight operators the position will have responsibility for achieving and reporting on KPI’s. 

Your typical day at DSV:

• Direct, guide and support staff to achieve optimum performance.
• Establish and maintain airfreight and customer relationships.
• Data base management including invoicing and quoting.
• Be responsible for the overall performance for the airfreight operations and ensure management intensity is maintained in key performance areas.
• Facilitate the provision of operational supports including import and export documentation, synchronisation of origin/destination zone transport, customs formalities and the overall scope of the door to door trade.
• Formulate and implement action plans.
• Ensure effective and timely delivery of customer commitments by the organisation.
• Follow and enforce company policy and procedures.
• Lead, direct and support daily operations as well as spearheading the development and rollout of improvement initiatives.
• Create a challenging, rewarding and open work environment that facilitates constructive communication and motivates performance.
• Identify and groom staff with potential for succession.
• Constantly monitor cost control efforts within the Department.
• Provide drive and motivation to the department, by leading from the front.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and performance feedback for department.
• Mentor, coach, challenge and evaluate team members.

About you:

• At least 5-7 years of experience in a senior airfeight operations role or similar
• Experience with EDI software solutions and large, complex organizations
• Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management and a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
• Ability to meet competing timelines
• Experience mentoring, coaching, challenging and evaluating team members
