Main Purpose of the role

DSV are recruiting for an Aerospace Operator at our Heathrow location within the Aerospace & Defence Department.  This role will report to the Aerospace & Defence management team and support the day-to-day operational activities of the department.  

You will be working as part of a specialist team managing aerospace and defence customer shipments, ensuring service excellence and operational compliance at all times.  

What will you be doing?

• Managing international air freight shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring adherence to customer requirements and service expectations.  
• Coordinating day-to-day operational activities for aerospace and defence customers.  
• Monitoring shipment milestones and providing proactive updates to customers and stakeholders.  
• Ensuring data quality and accurate maintenance of shipment records within operational systems.  
• Liaising with airlines, overseas offices, customers, and suppliers to ensure smooth movement of freight.  
• Identifying and resolving operational issues while maintaining service levels.  
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to optimise processes.  
• Working closely with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.  

About You

• Experience within air freight forwarding, import/export operations, or aerospace logistics would be advantageous.  
• Be customer-focused with dedication to delivering a high-quality service.  
• Ability to maintain a positive mindset when working under pressure, reprioritising workload where necessary.  
• Be reliable with the ability to multitask and possess strong problem-solving skills.  
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.   
• Excellent IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly as required. Knowledge of CargoWise One (CW1) would be preferred.  
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and customer-focused approach.  
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced operational environment.
