Summary

The Senior Logistics Coordinator manages a Latin & South America logistics portfolio in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. Participate and lead logistics related projects, supports customer delivery through operational excellence. You will be responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects and services as well as providing logistics support, consulting, finding optimal mode and way of transportation and obtaining the best possible transportation rates.

 

This role will be located near IAH George Bush International Airport. This role is expected to be onsite.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure Transport Management System (OTM) and process compliance and integrity for Latin & South America customers.
  • Optimize shipments, improve on time delivery, and cost efficiency of customer deliveries through Lean approach.
  • Evaluate and drive transport mode and service level optimization.
  • Investigate logistics non-conformances, identify, and record corrective actions.
  • Work cross functionally with stakeholders, members of the Gas Power Logistics team and business operations related to the logistics strategy and execution.
  • Accountable for accurate OTM and logistics related data and associated KPI report availability
  • Provide excellent and prompt customer service via phone and email.
  • Accountable for executing transportation goals, strategies, and procedures in accordance with Gas Power Logistics initiatives.
  • Lead the shipment planning process by enhanced system utilization and contractual coverage through collaboration with business operations.
  • Assist with issues related to Information Technology impacting customer experience.

 

Educational background / Work experience

  • 5 or more years in operational and/or supply chain experience supporting Latin & South America shipments
  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED
  • Bilingual – English & Spanish
  • Understanding of Incoterms (International Trade Association)

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong facilitation skills, ability to work independently.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Experience with process improvements, Lean and Kaizen.
  • Comfortable in matrixed cross-functional environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve metrics.
  • Experience with training others.
  • Operational planning.
  • Strong computer skills and experience working in MRP systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management, such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP).

 

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

 

Computer Literacy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and logistics software and tools, such as TMS and WMS.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $58,000 - $78,500 / Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
