SUMMARY

The General Warehouse Associate (GWA) is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving, and picking.  Activities may include, but are not limited to, loading or unloading, mounting, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product.  The Associate is also responsible for counting and inspecting product, notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies, and operating all equipment safely and efficiently and performing all duties as assigned. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, productivity and quality.

Ensure all assembled products meet quality standards and customer specifications and report damages or discrepancies.

Operates forklift equipment (gas or electric) to load/unload, pick, replenish, stack, move and store product.

Follows and adheres to all shipping/receiving SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).

Efficiently and accurately locate and place products in the appropriate locations and/or storage areas.

Palletizes product - packages, bands and labels product as determined by client requirements.

Maintains organization and cleanliness of warehouse.

Adheres to all corporate and site specific policies/procedures, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.

Completes work assignments and meets production and error ratio standards.

Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 

Prior forklift experience.

Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.

Strong attention to details, accuracy and accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.

Effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-pace work environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Work experience in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the associate uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. 

 

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for up for 8 hours per day.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
