Summary
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial results, and strategic growth of an assigned DSV Road branch. This role provides direction and oversight for brokerage operations, sales growth, customer satisfaction, carrier relationships, and employee development while ensuring alignment with company objectives and service standards. The Branch Manager is accountable for branch profitability, operational excellence, and market expansion through effective leadership, business development, and execution of transportation and logistics solutions.
The Branch Manager serves as a key leader within the organization, fostering a high-performance culture focused on customer service, operational efficiency, employee engagement, and sustainable business growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all branch operations, ensuring achievement of financial, operational, service, and growth objectives.
- Maintain full responsibility for branch Profit & Loss (P&L), including revenue growth, expense management, margin performance, and overall profitability.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to expand market share, increase revenue, and strengthen the branch's competitive position.
- Partner with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to develop transportation solutions that meet customer requirements and business objectives.
- Drive new business development efforts while expanding existing customer relationships and identifying opportunities for organic growth.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for Operational Account Managers, Carrier Sales Representatives, and other branch personnel.
- Establish performance expectations, monitor results, and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve branch goals.
- Analyze operational and financial metrics to identify trends, improve productivity, enhance service levels, and maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, regulatory standards, and transportation industry best practices.
- Oversee branch staffing, workforce planning, employee development, succession planning, and talent retention initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to implement strategic initiatives and support organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, carriers, and business partners to enhance service performance and business growth.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and risks impacting branch performance.
- Lead branch meetings, performance reviews, and operational planning activities.
- Support special projects, business initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in transportation brokerage, third-party logistics (3PL), freight forwarding, or related transportation operations.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience with responsibility for operational performance, employee management, and business results.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, including revenue growth, gross margin, budgeting, and P&L accountability.
- Proven track record of business development, customer relationship management, and operational leadership.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused transportation environment.

Physical Demands

For this position, the expected base pay range is $104,500.00 – $130,500.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
