Job Posting Title: Business Support Specialist, Air & Sea Pricing 

Time Type: Full Time

Summary

As a Business Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the regional pricing teams and ensuring smooth and efficient administrative processes. You will collaborate with various pricing team members within the region and support the administration of the team’s centralized email flow. You will be enabling visibility and reporting on progress of requests to the pricing team. The role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze business data and allocate workload according to assigned matrices.
  • Manage exceptions identified within database.
  • Prepare reports for management that provide visibility into workflow management and response times of the regional pricing teams
  • Review status of quote conversions provided by the pricing teams. Follow through on review reasons for not winning quotes – categorize these and make them visible to branch and sales management teams.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency of tasks being executed.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for new employees requiring access to reports and email boxes
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by management

 

Educational background / Work experience

  • Associate Bachelor’s degree in administration or related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an administrative capacity is preferred
  • Experience in the transportation and logistics industry is preferred
  • Experience in data analysis and digital systems is preferred

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of database and transport management system
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time-management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

  • May provide guidance and training to junior staff members

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field

 

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

 

Computer Literacy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of database and project management software preferred

For this position, the expected base pay is: $60,500 - $72,000 / Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location and other objective business considerations.
