Accounts Receivable Summer Intern

 

Spend the summer with DSV Air & Sea! We are looking for interns to help us in our very busy Accounts Receivable Department. This is a GREAT way to gain hands on experience and exposure working for a large and very successful global organization.

 

The AR Accounting Clerk Intern assists with customer file maintenance, applying payments, collections, credit analysis, accounts reconciliation and management. DSV is looking for a driven intern with a basic understanding of financial principles and terms who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our leadership staff, the AR Intern can expect to be exposed to a wide variety of daily functions within the AR department. Will participate in the analysis and reporting of actual financial data, while learning to use transport- related and accounting software.

 

To be a strong candidate for an AR Accounting Internship, you should possess an understanding of accounting and financial principles and a positive attitude. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn. You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.

 

Intern Essential Responsibilities:

Reconcile discrepancies with incoming payments from customers

Effectively communicate with customers verbally and by email

Shadowing members of the AR department to learn essential duties

Assisting with research of discrepancies, account reconciliation

 Working with SAP, Cargowise as well as other company software

 Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity

Compile and analyze data, track information using MS Excel

Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations such as, cash applications, credit analysis, collections, credit card payments processing

 

Accounting Intern Requirements:

Must be proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivots preferred)

Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting

Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles

A GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to work as part of a team

Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.

For this position, the expected pay rate is $20.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
