Summary
The Ocean Export Manager oversees the export process for ocean cargo, ensuring efficient and timely delivery while maintaining compliance with regulations. This role involves managing relationships with customers, vendors, and service providers to ensure a high level of service and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the ocean export process, including preparation of shipping documents, customs clearance, and booking with shipping lines.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure efficient delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and third-party service providers.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries promptly to maintain satisfaction and trust.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs regulations and trade laws.
- Stay updated on changes in ocean freight regulations and export controls.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Identify and execute process improvements to reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including cargo delivery times, costs, and service quality.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of ocean export coordinators and support staff.
Educational background / Work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in ocean exports and supervisory roles is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ocean freight regulations, customs requirements, and export controls.
- Knowledge of shipping routes and schedules.

- Experience with logistics and ocean cargo management systems.

Physical Demands

For this position, the expected base pay range is – . Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
For this position, the expected base pay is: $78,000 - $117,500 / Annually. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
