The Procurement Manager’s primary job is to act as a commercial bid manager on the opportunities on hand, leading the opportunity to success by bringing together the necessary stakeholders. Reporting to the Director and serving as a member of Middle Management Team within the DSV UAE organization.
It is expected that the Procurement Manager can demonstrate excellent analytical skills, exceptional communication skills and takes ownership of challenges and provide resolution to the situation with a proactive approach. It is also expected that this person can work with the direction given, raise concerns and adhere to all deadlines provided.
Working with the management team, the position contributes to commercial development, by analyzing and presenting findings in a simple manner utilizing the tools and knowledge available, to reach the goals. Working independently, proactive and innovative are the keys to success. The person should be responsible for updating and cooperate with the reporting manager about daily activities and escalating issues if any.

Detailed Responsibilities:
- Prepare competitive, high-quality proposals in response to forwarding RFQs/RFIs/RFPs received from global / regional priority accounts closely cooperating with other Tender Management Teams, Bid Owner, and Product as well as support functions.
- Act as support for proposals lead by other Region´s
- Should lead any local tenders as a bid-manager
- Converting network queries to business effectively
- Develop competitive proposals for DSV Accounts
- Creation/Compilation of Requests for Quotation, reviewing pricing with bid owners and product managers.
- Ensure compliance with Tender Management processes and guidelines
- Ensure timely, accurate and quality responses are delivered to the requesting parties
- Update rate database as well as bid templates
- Update and maintain monthly tender data records and follow up on progress of submitted tenders
- Responsible for thorough bid analysis upon receipt, summarizing key information, requirements, volumes and comparing it to any similar bid quoted earlier.
- Interface with other functional groups such as Commercial Team, Key Account Management, Industry Verticals and Trade Lane Development, as well as with customers in creating/delivering customer driven services and solutions.
- Ensure post bid analysis to be performed by bid owners for all bids, both successful and unsuccessful tenders, ensures receiving tender feedback is shared with relevant functions in the organization
- Any other relevant task assigned by management.
Communication:
Internal – Commercial Teams, DSV network offices, Operations and Customs Team, Warehouse teams and Finance teams.
External – Clients, DSV vendors, Carriers
Qualifications & Characteristics:
- Experience of minimum 8+ years working, out of which min. of 5+ years in the industry and 2+ years in a commercial orientated role (tender management, business development etc.)
- A bachelor’s degree is desirable
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal), any other language is an advantage
- Functional and operational know-how on global forwarding
- Able to manage cross-functional interfaces
- Organizations / Project Management skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control)
- Result oriented, team driven, and customer focused
- Excellent team player
- Ability to read, interpret and analyse RFI and RFQ documents in a timely manner
- Able to work under pressure and tight timelines.
