DSV Solutions is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Logistics Engineer (Industrial) in Sydney.

 

This role investigates and reviews the utilization of personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials, along with current operational processes and established practices in logistics and supply chain operations. The primary goal is to recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency of operations in various industrial and production environments.

 

Your typical day at DSV:


1. Analyze current logistics and supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
2. Develop and implement new methods and procedures to optimize utilization of personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials in the logistics and supply chain operations.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.
4. Utilize mathematical models, statistical techniques, and simulation tools to analyze and solve complex operational problems in logistics and supply chain management.
5. Design and implement systems for tracking and optimizing logistics and supply chain metrics, including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
6. Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work methods and improve logistics and supply chain processes.
7. Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to streamline logistics and supply chain operations.
8. Provide technical support and training to logistics and supply chain teams on new processes and systems.
9. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements and make adjustments as necessary.
10. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project status to management.

 

About You:


1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Proven experience in process improvement and optimization within logistics and supply chain operations.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management software systems (e.g., WMS, TMS) preferred.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
