Main Purpose of the Role

DSV is looking for a Logistics Engineer to support the optimisation and continuous improvement of our operations and supply-chain of our customers the Engineer support sales meet their revenue targets through solution pricing. The role will apply Industrial Engineering principles, data analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, productivity, and cost performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Operations, Solutions and Pricing, Transport, and other key stakeholders to understand business requirements, analyse logistics processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop practical, data-driven solutions.This is an opportunity for an Industrial Engineer who is passionate about logistics, supply chain, and continuous improvement to make a measurable impact within a global logistics organisation.

Job Related Requirements

  • B-Eng Industrial Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 2+ years' relevant work experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, Distribution, or a related environment
  • Practical understanding of logistics and supply-chain processes
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to analyse data and translate findings into practical operational improvements

Computer Literacy Level

  • MS Excel Advanced
  • Power BI
  • SQL
  • Simulation Modeling (Flexsim, Anylogic etc)
  • Python

Additional Computer Skills

  • TMS (Transport Management System) Experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Logistics & Supply Chain Optimisation
      o Analyse logistics and supply-chain processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for  improvement.
      o Develop and implement solutions aimed at improving cost, service levels, productivity, and operational efficiency.
      o Evaluate logistics processes, transportation models, distribution networks, and resource utilisation.
      o Support the design and optimisation of logistics solutions based on customer and operational requirements.
      o Conduct operational and cost analyses to support business decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement
      o Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across logistics and supply-chain operations.
      o Apply Industrial Engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies to improve processes.
      o Participate in improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving productivity, and increasing service performance.
      o Develop and monitor relevant KPIs to measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
      o Conduct root-cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
      o Analyse operational and logistics data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
      o Develop reports and dashboards to communicate operational performance.
      o Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to management.
      o Ensure data accuracy and attention to detail when conducting analyses and preparing reports.
      o Use Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini to solve business problems
      o Identify processes that can be improved or automated using AI
      o Build AI-assisted workflows and automations
  • Stakeholder Management
      o Work closely with Operations, Solutions, Pricing, Transport, Sales, and other relevant stakeholders.
      o Understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into practical logistics solutions.
      o Communicate technical and analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      o Build effective working relationships across different functions.
