Job-related Requirements

•    Minimum three years of professional experience in a project, consulting or similar management position
•    Experience in developing digital products, such as SaaS, IoT, AI and/or eCommerce
•    Experience in innovation context or startup with proven leadership track record
•    Credible understanding of major digital business models, emerging technologies and the respective growth drivers
•    Capability to inspire, motivate and convince colleagues within the organisation
•    Strong customer orientation and experience in identifying current and future customer needs
 

Electives

• Experience in the logistics and transportation industry
• Design Thinking
• Change Management experience in rolling out big projects / big systems?
• Formal qualification in Change Management (preferably PROSci)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

The Product Manager (PM) holistically leads the development and implementation of new digital products, whether through tactical and strategic partnerships with existing players to greenfield development of new digital products and services. The PM is responsible for the idea assessment, initial setup of the project, creating a product road map, the acquisition of relevant partners, the steering of digital product development as well as stakeholder management. In addition. 
The PM drives internal adoption of digital innovation initiatives within the Africa region, working closely with the business to identify and execute on digital. PM will also be responsible for managing external and internal developers and partners to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of selected initiatives. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Leading digital innovation projects in logistics and supply chain
•    Product development: define product strategy, roadmap and manage the product from idea assessment, proof-of-concept, pilot to production
•    Build relationships with relevant partners, e.g., start-ups, customers, business partners, vendors, research institutes
•    Ongoing product and service development, implementation and iterative improvement, monitoring of KPIs and milestones
•    Systematic know-how transfer both into DSV Africa Innovation Hub and into other DSV entities
•    High degree of flexibility regarding execution approaches, team setup, technological bandwidth, and budget acting as an open-minded entrepreneur
