Job Related Requirements
- Minimum 2 Years’ experience as Team Leader or similar in a warehouse environment.
- Experience in stock control and management.
- Knowledge of inbound, returns processes, and workflows.
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot stock discrepancies.
- Experience leading a team of 20 or more people.

Main purpose of the role
This role will be responsible for the leading and control of a Retail operations at DSV Park, Plumbago Distribution Centre.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily Tasks – Outbound
- Oversee Outbound Operations: Ensure all client orders are processed accurately and dispatched on time according to customer requirements.
- Daily Reporting to Management: Provide updates on outbound order status, stock levels, order accuracy, dispatch times, and any fulfillment issues.
- Monitor and Report on Attendance of Staff: Ensure adequate staffing levels in Outbound to meet daily fulfillment targets.
- Conduct Hourly Floor Walks: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and monitor outbound workflows (picking, packing, loading).
- Drive the Team to Meet Daily Outbound Targets: Ensure the team meets daily KPIs relating to picking speed, packing accuracy, dispatch timings, and quality standards.
- Ensure 5S Compliance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in Outbound areas (picking aisles, packing stations, loading bays).
- Ensure Adherence to SPQRCE: Monitor outbound processes for accuracy and consistency, ensuring all standards and procedures are followed.
- Reward Good Behavior: Recognize top performers who meet or exceed outbound targets; implement “employee of the month” recognition when applicable.
- Manage Disciplinary Action: Address performance or behavioral issues related to outbound tasks such as picking errors, delays, or non-compliance with procedures.
- Keep Management Informed: Report daily on any challenges affecting outbound operations, such as order backlogs, stock shortages, or system issues.
- Assist in Physical Operations: Step in when necessary to support outbound picking, packing, or loading activities and assist in resolving operational bottlenecks.
- Maintain Team Motivation: Ensure the team remains focused on achieving high-quality outbound service while maintaining strong morale.
- Weekly Tasks – Outbound
- Create and Maintain Outbound Reports: Generate weekly reports on KPIs such as picking accuracy, dispatch times, order turnaround, and returns, and present findings to management.
- Investigate and Complete CAPA Documents: Investigate discrepancies, picking errors, dispatch issues, and stock variances, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Review outbound processes with the team and introduce enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
- Conduct Weekly Staff Meetings: Discuss weekly performance, address operational issues, review targets,
- and plan improvement strategies.
- Oversee Special Projects: Manage outbound-related projects such as process optimization, new client requirements, or layout improvements.
- Conflict Management: Address and resolve conflicts within the team related to workload, performance, or process issues.
- Hold Meetings with Warehouse Staff: Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure alignment between outbound operations and overall warehouse objectives.
- Evaluate Team Performance: Assess and provide feedback on staff performance in meeting outbound KPIs and service expectations.
- Monthly Tasks – Outbound
- Ensure HSE Compliance: Confirm that all health and safety standards are met in outbound areas (ergonomics, safe handling of goods, equipment operation, etc.).
- Monitor Client KPIs: Review client-specific performance metrics (dispatch accuracy, delivery turnaround times, load quality) and ensure full compliance.
- Track and Review Outbound Performance: Analyze monthly data on order fulfillment efficiency, stock movements, returns, and customer feedback to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities.
- Review and Recognize Top Performers: Identify and reward employees who consistently contribute to the success of outbound operations.
- Review and Update Improvement Initiatives: Evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing changes or improvement projects and plan next steps for operational enhancements.
- Compliance Check: Ensure adherence to internal policies, SOPs, work instructions, and client requirements across all outbound processes.
- Assist with Training and Development: Conduct or coordinate training to ensure team members stay updated on outbound procedures, systems, and best practices.
