Main Purpose of the Role
This role forms part of the SCO team, based at the client premises. The role Is responsible for the entire operational leg of a trade lane, from identifying a material need, to claiming a replacement and the closure. The Supply Chain Analyst should be able to adapt their way of work to suit the business requirements. The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for optimising the SKU range to ensure target achievement in relation to inventory and targeted service levels.
Tertiary Qualification
- Must have Matric / Grade 12.
- Bachelor’s degree (engineering, commerce, logistics, supply chain management) and / or 5 years equivalent experience ideally within the automotive industry.
Computer Literacy Level
- Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
Additional Computer Skills
- BI Dashboard/Visualization Tool (required - Power BI (preferred) or QlikView or Tableau or similar).
- Must have intermediate knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office applications Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and PowerPoint.
Job Related Requirements / Min Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
- Own vehicle with driver’s license.
- Hands-on experience with inventory optimization, demand planning, or replenishment processes.
- Must have knowledge of spare parts portfolio and functionality.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a logical and structured approach to thinking.
- Good interpersonal skills for client account management.
- Well organized, with a disposition to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Track stock levels and identify issues in advance.
- Daily monitoring and problem solving of clients he/she is responsible for.
- Analyze current inventory levels, turnover rates, and demand trends.
- Identify opportunities to reduce excess stock, avoid stockouts, and optimize reorder points.
- Identify inefficiencies in inventory planning, storage, and replenishment processes.
- Recommend and implement process changes to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate inventory status and risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Perform adhoc supply chain analysis as required.
- Use tools like Power BI, Excel, or specialized inventory software for analytics and reporting.
- Monitor inventory risk factors such as supply disruptions, demand variability, and obsolescence.
- Develop mitigation strategies to minimize inventory-related risks.
- Process supplier orders accurately and timeously.
- Liaise with the warehouse continuously to ensure the speedy release of parts.
- Track and intervene on claims process when required.
- Scrutinise the backorder listing daily.
- Search for and coordinate alternative solutions – stripping/alternate suppliers.
- Follow up on suppliers on emergency orders.
