Main Purpose of the Role

This role forms part of the SCO team, who is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and cost-effective management of inventory for our clients. This role focuses on analyzing data to balance supply and demand, reduce excess stock, prevent stockouts, and improve inventory turnover.The Supply Chain Analyst must be able to manage several clients across different industries and must be capable of translating their requirements into inventory policies on the advanced planning software and into BI reports.

 

Tertiary Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.

 

Computer Literacy Level

  • Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

 

Additional Computer Skills 

  • BI Dashboard/Visualization Tool (required - Power BI (preferred) or QlikView or Tableau or similar).
  • Experience with inventory optimization software like JustEnough, OptiMatix, Netstock, Forecast Pro etc.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and Powerpoint.

 

Job Related Requirements / Min Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Supply Chain, Logistics, or Inventory Management roles.
  • Own vehicle with driver’s license.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory optimization, demand planning, or replenishment processes.
  • Experience in data analysis and working with large datasets in a supply chain environment.
  • An understanding of inventory metrics (e.g. inventory turns, safety stock levels).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a logical and structured approach to thinking.
  • Good interpersonal skills for client account management.
  • Well organized, with a disposition to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

 

Added advantages for the Role

  • SAPICS certification.
  • Any ERP system exposure.
  • Knowledge of SQL or Python/R for data extraction and analysis is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, well-presented and well-spoken in English and Afrikaans.
  • Strong ability to work in teams and on one’s own.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support new clients Inventory Optimization Solutions.
  • Daily monitoring and problem solving of clients he/she is responsible for.
  • Analyze current inventory levels, turnover rates, and demand trends.
  • Use statistical models and forecasting tools to predict future inventory needs.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory planning, storage, and replenishment processes.
  • Recommend and implement process changes to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Help define and refine inventory policies (e.g., safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, lead times).
  • Support the standardization of inventory management practices clients.
  • Use tools like Power BI, Excel, or specialized inventory software for analytics and reporting.
  • Monitor inventory risk factors such as supply disruptions, demand variability, and obsolescence.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize inventory-related risks.
