Main Purpose of the Role
The Payroll Team Lead will manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing. They will be expected to effectively lead and support the payroll team, providing guidance, quality control, and continuous process improvement, ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal payroll requirements.
Qualification
• Matric (Grade 12) – essential
• Relevant Payroll / Finance / Human Resources qualification (Diploma or Degree) – advantage
Computer Literacy Level
• Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Additional Computer Skills
• Sage People300
• ESS
• SuccessFactors (Employee Central)
Job Related Requirements
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Shared Services Payroll environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working on Sage People 300 & ESS
• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory compliance
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Experience with NBCRFLI submissions and compliance
Added advantages for the Role
• Experience dealing with SARS submissions and reconciliations
• Exposure to STATS SA reporting
• Experience in leading or supervising a payroll team
Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing on P300
• Processing Increase & Bonus Schedules
• Assisting with Audits
• Completing & Submitting Stats SA
• Banking (Standard bank)
• Monthly Reporting & Reconciliation
• Processing of Monthly Schedules (Unions, IOD, Kronos etc.)
• Integrations (EC – P300)
• Ensure adherence to payroll deadlines
• Liaise with HR and Finance departments on payroll matters
• Support to Payroll Team & Manager
• Lead payroll team performance reviews
