Summary
The Talent Acquisition Partner, Field Driver Recruiting is responsible for developing and executing field-based recruiting strategies to attract and hire qualified CDL-A drivers in key transportation markets across the United States. This role serves as a strategic recruiting partner to Operations and People & Organization (HR), providing market insight, identifying recruiting opportunities, and developing targeted strategies to support current and anticipated driver staffing needs.
As a highly visible recruiting presence in the field, the Talent Acquisition Partner builds relationships with drivers, CDL schools, workforce organizations, community partners, and other local talent sources to develop sustainable driver pipelines. The role spends significant time within assigned markets conducting grassroots recruiting activities, including career fairs, hiring events, truck stop outreach, CDL school partnerships, community events, and other targeted recruiting initiatives.
Working with a high degree of independence, the Talent Acquisition Partner evaluates local labor markets, identifies sourcing opportunities, determines appropriate recruiting approaches, and adjusts strategies based on hiring results, market conditions, and changing business needs. The position partners closely with Operations, Talent Acquisition, P&O, Safety, Compliance, and Marketing to support fleet growth and ensure driver recruiting strategies align with operational and organizational objective.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted driver recruiting strategies based on staffing needs, labor market conditions, hiring trends, and business growth.
- Serve as a field-based recruiting presence in priority markets, engaging prospective drivers through truck stops, CDL schools, career fairs, hiring events, community outreach, and other grassroots recruiting activities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with CDL schools, workforce and veteran organizations, community partners, and other external sources to develop sustainable driver pipelines.
- Partner with Operations and P&O leaders to understand current and anticipated driver staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies for local, regional, and OTR positions.
- Evaluate assigned markets and provide insight and recommendations regarding driver availability, competitive hiring practices, sourcing opportunities, and barriers to attracting qualified talent.
- Source, engage, screen, and recruit qualified CDL-A drivers while managing the full recruitment lifecycle and delivering a positive candidate experience.
- Assess candidate qualifications and preliminary eligibility in accordance with company standards and applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements.
- Develop and maintain active driver pipelines to support current openings, anticipated staffing needs, and fleet growth.
- Partner with Marketing and Talent Acquisition to develop localized recruiting campaigns, events, and outreach strategies that increase applicant flow and brand awareness.
- Track recruiting activity, sourcing effectiveness, market trends, and hiring results; adjust recruiting strategies and priorities based on results.
- Independently plan and prioritize field recruiting activities, market coverage, and travel based on business needs and hiring priorities.
- Maintain accurate recruiting records and collaborate with Safety, Compliance, Operations, and P&O to support compliant driver hiring.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive recruiting experience, including significant hands-on experience recruiting CDL-A commercial drivers within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Demonstrated success recruiting high volumes of local, regional, and OTR drivers in competitive labor markets.
- Experience developing and executing field-based, grassroots, or community-based recruiting strategies strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently assess recruiting markets, develop sourcing strategies, and adjust recruiting activities based on hiring results and changing business needs.
- Strong working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA driver qualification and hiring requirements.
- Experience using TenStreet for driver sourcing, screening, candidate management, and recruiting workflows strongly preferred.
- Experience using applicant tracking and HRIS systems; SAP SuccessFactors experience preferred.
- Experience developing partnerships with CDL schools, workforce organizations, community organizations, veteran organizations, or other external recruiting sources preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly within assigned recruiting markets and to other U.S. locations as business needs require.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, recruiting technology, job boards, social media, and digital sourcing tools.
- English proficiency (reading, writing, and verbal) required; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
Travel Requirements
This is a field-based recruiting position requiring frequent travel within assigned recruiting markets and throughout the United States based on driver hiring needs. Travel may include visits to truck stops, transportation terminals, CDL schools, career fairs, hiring events, community organizations, workforce centers, and other recruiting locations. The position requires regular driving and may require overnight and car/air travel depending on market coverage, recruiting initiatives, and business needs. The role also requires flexibility to conduct recruiting activities during the times most effective for reaching driver candidates, which may occasionally include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Physical Demands
This position combines field-based recruiting activities with administrative work performed in an office, home office, vehicle, or other business setting. The role requires frequent driving and may require extended periods of standing and walking while attending career fairs, hiring events, truck stops, CDL schools, terminals, and other recruiting locations. The employee must be able to regularly communicate with candidates and business partners in person, by phone, and electronically; operate a computer and other standard office equipment; and occasionally lift or transport recruiting materials, displays, or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This position operates in a combination of professional office, remote, transportation, and field environments. Field recruiting activities may take place at truck stops, transportation terminals, CDL schools, career fairs, community locations, outdoor events, and other environments associated with commercial transportation recruiting. The role requires significant independence and flexibility in planning daily recruiting activities and may involve frequent driving, changing work locations, outdoor conditions, and interaction with candidates in active transportation environments. Work schedules may vary based on recruiting events, candidate availability, market conditions, and operational hiring needs.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
