DSV is looking for a Project Manager, Transportation Operations to lead cross-functional projects that help improve how our Road transportation business operates, grows, and serves our customers. This individual contributor role sits at the intersection of domestic transportation, project management, operational improvement, technology, and business implementation.

You’ll lead initiatives across FTL, LTL, freight brokerage, asset-based operations, customer implementations, technology, network optimization, and continuous improvement, partnering with teams across Operations, Commercial, Finance, Information Technology, Safety, Equipment, Customer Success, and other areas of the business.

This isn’t a project management role focused solely on timelines and meetings. You’ll dig into transportation processes and performance, help solve operational challenges, coordinate customer and business implementations, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service, and turn business needs into practical, scalable solutions.

From new customer implementations and TMS enhancements to network optimization and process improvement, you’ll manage projects from planning through implementation and transition to ongoing operations, with a focus on delivering measurable results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

• Lead cross-functional transportation and logistics projects from planning through implementation and transition to ongoing operations.
• Develop and manage project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, deliverables, resource requirements, dependencies, risks, and success measures.
• Facilitate project meetings, establish responsibilities and action items, monitor progress, and maintain accountability for project commitments and timelines.
• Identify project risks, barriers, and dependencies and coordinate mitigation and resolution efforts.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing priorities, timelines, budgets, business requirements, and deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, status updates, dashboards, performance reports, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.

Transportation Operations & Continuous Improvement

• Lead projects designed to improve transportation operations, service quality, capacity utilization, efficiency, scalability, and financial performance.
• Evaluate FTL, LTL, brokerage, asset-based, and other transportation operations to identify opportunities for improvement and standardization.
• Analyze routing, scheduling, carrier utilization, transportation costs, service performance, operational workflows, and other data to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Support network optimization, freight modeling, cost analysis, scenario planning, and other initiatives that inform operational and business decisions.
• Partner with Information Technology and operational teams on TMS enhancements, system implementations, automation solutions, reporting capabilities, and other technology-related initiatives.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process maps, workflows, and implementation documentation to support consistent and scalable operations.
• Develop and monitor KPIs and other performance measures to evaluate project outcomes and operational effectiveness.

Customer & Business Implementation

• Lead or support new customer implementations, business expansions, transportation solutions, and significant changes to existing operations.
• Translate customer and business requirements into project plans, operational processes, timelines, and performance measures.
• Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders throughout implementation to maintain alignment, address risks, resolve issues, and support successful delivery.
• Participate in customer meetings, business reviews, and project discussions to communicate progress, performance, and improvement opportunities.
• Support change management and adoption activities and ensure completed projects transition effectively into ongoing operations with defined ownership, documentation, processes, and performance expectations.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships across Operations, Commercial, Finance, Information Technology, Safety, Equipment, Customer Success, and other business functions.
• Serve as the project lead for assigned initiatives, coordinating activities and influencing stakeholders across teams without direct reporting authority.
• Partner with customers, carriers, vendors, and other external stakeholders as needed to support project objectives.
• Travel as needed to support project implementations, customer meetings, operational reviews, site assessments, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, project management, or a related field.
• Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects involving multiple business functions and stakeholders.
• Experience within domestic transportation operations, including FTL, LTL, freight brokerage, asset-based transportation, or related operations preferred.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with customer implementations, operational improvements, technology implementations, network optimization, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
• Working knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and related operational platforms preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, CAPM, or similar project management or continuous improvement certification preferred.

• Effective written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate with operational teams, business partners, customers, and leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining timelines, deliverables, and attention to detail.
• Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and develop scalable solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Physical Demands

The position primarily involves sedentary work in a professional office environment. The employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer, participating in meetings, and communicating by phone or virtual platforms. Frequent use of hands and fingers is necessary to operate a keyboard, mouse, phone, and other standard office equipment.

The role requires regular verbal and written communication and the ability to exchange accurate information with customers, carriers, business partners, operational teams, and leadership. The employee may periodically move about the office and may occasionally lift or move office materials weighing up to approximately 15 pounds, including files, documents, or a laptop.

The role may require travel to DSV locations, customer sites, carrier facilities, terminals, warehouses, or other operational environments. When visiting operational facilities, the employee is required to follow applicable safety requirements and use appropriate personal protective equipment when required. Flexibility in work hours may occasionally be necessary based on project implementations, operational requirements, customer needs, or travel.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $90,000.00 – $105,000.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
