Summary

At DSV Road Transport, The Sales Manager, equipment will lead our sales and procurement of trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales withing the commercial trucking industry, with a focus on CDL trucks and trailers. As a sales manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue and savings from the sale of equipment and develop strategic initiatives to expand our market base of buyers and sellers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and objectives for CDL trucks and trailers.
  • Identify market opportunities, analyze needs, and tailor sales strategies to maximize revenue and savings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key buyers, sellers, dealerships, and industry partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for purchase inquiries, sales negotiations, and after-sales support.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand our buyer/seller base and penetrate new markets.
  • Develop relationships with prospective buyers, conduct sales presentations, and negotiate contracts.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and developments in the commercial trucking industry.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, track progress towards sales targets, and generate regular reports for senior management.
  • Utilize sales data and market insights to identify areas for improvement and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Provide input and feedback on pricing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to sales/purchase activities, contracts, and transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales/purchase transactions, customer interactions, and sales-related documentation.

  • Strong sales mentality, with a record of driving sales in a competitive environment
  • Team player with ability to work amongst diverse, cross-functional teams and all levels of management.
  • Presentation skillset and ability to lead virtual meetings and sales engagements.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates commitment and results-orientation.
  • Availability to travel as needed to meet buyers and sellers, attend industry events, and visit dealerships.

 

 

Educational background / Work experience / Qualifications

  • 5+ Years of Experience in sales or procurement, within the commercial trucking industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and procurement in a competitive enviroment.

 

Language Skills

  • Business fluent in English
  • Preferably good command of local language

 

Computer Literacy

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others)

 

Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.  The employee is often required to walk and use hand and eye coordination.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   

 

Work Hours and Environment

Normal working hours for this position are Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, however, working beyond these hours will often be required by business needs.

DSV Road Transport Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as “at will” employees. This means that an employee may be terminated for any reason, or no reason at all, at any time, provided the discharge does not violate any law*. Additionally, each employee has the right to terminate his/her employment at any time. *Except if employed in Montana, where termination requires just cause.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $70,500- $105,500/ Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
