POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Manager (Implementation) is responsible for providing design and execution support for projects tied to new and expanding business implementations in the North American region. The Engineering Manager designs the overall facility layout, storage media, and flow paired with appropriate equipment supporting the Concept of Operations. The detailed design must meet customer and organizational requirements tied to Safety, Quality, and Productivity. Once approved by the Project Steering Committee, the engineer manages the physical implementation of the design adhering to scope, timeline, and budget requirements set by the Project Manager.
The Engineering Manager will be expected to execute smaller Implementation projects without Project Manager oversight and will lead the efforts of Implementation Engineers who are executing tasks on the projects on which both are engaged. The Engineering Manager will support the onboarding of new engineers in the department in the Engineering Functional Areas’ processes, toolsets, and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Full understanding of the approved Solutions Model tied to the client’s award of business to DSV Solutions.
• Participation in “Advance Quality Planning” sessions with new clients validating processes, volumes, and other requirements.
• Determine and gain agreement of final layout design of facility, operating process, equipment type and quantity.
• Partner with Quality and other key functional groups that are part of implementation (HR, IT, Operations, etc.) to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and provide data inputs for those groups where required.
• Develop and provide the detailed tasks required for successful implementation to the Project Manager
• Provide tools to site team to track and report on established Key Performance Indicators
• Provide labor planning tool tailored to the client’s business and agreed upon operating processes.
• Identify, procure, and manage installation of all necessary capital expense items to support successful launch of operation.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Experience:
• Four-year degree is basic requirement (Industrial Engineering preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of job related/relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years Logistics/Supply Chain Industry experience
Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Vizio
• Aptitude for AutoCAD, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Project
• Knowledge of WMS functionality
Certificates & Licenses: NA
Language Skills:
• English (reading, writing, verbal), Spanish a plus
• Interpersonal communication and language skills (e.g., listening to others, speaking to others, reading, writing).
• Communication (facilitation skills and very mature communication skills to be able to communicate to all levels in the organization).
Mathematical Skills
• Good mathematical skills
Other Skills:
• Experience dealing with end users, vendors and clients.
• Experience in 3PL environment.
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.
• Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.
