POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Implementation Engineer is responsible for providing design and execution support for projects tied to new and expanding business implementations in the North American region.  The Implementation Engineer designs the overall facility layout, storage media, and flow paired with appropriate equipment supporting the Concept of Operations.  The detailed design must meet customer and organizational requirements tied to Safety, Quality, and Productivity.  Once approved by the Project Steering Committee, the engineer manages the physical implementation of the design adhering to scope, timeline, and budget requirements set by the Project Manager. 

 

Location:  Lawrenceivlle, GA; Lancaster, TX; Aurora. IL; Port Redaing, NJ  / remote potential.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full understanding of the approved Solutions Model tied to the client’s award of business to DSV Solutions
  • Participation in “Advance Quality Planning” sessions with new clients validating processes, volumes, and other requirements.
  • Determine and gain agreement of final design of facility, operating process, equipment type and quantity.
  • Partner with key functional groups that are part of implementation (HR, IT, Operations, etc.) to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and provide data inputs for those groups where required.
  • Develop and provide the detailed tasks required for successful implementation to the Project Manager.
  • Provide tools to site team to track and report on established Key Performance Indicators
  • Provide labor planning tool tailored to the client’s business and agreed upon operating processes.
  • Identify and procure all necessary capital expense items to support successful launch of operation.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education & Experience:  

  • Four-year degree is basic requirement (Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of job related/relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years Logistics/Supply Chain Industry experience

Computer Skills:  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Vizio
  • Aptitude for AutoCAD and Microsoft Access
  • Knowledge of WMS functionality


Certificates & Licenses:  NA
 

Language Skills 

  • English (reading, writing, verbal), Spanish a plus.
  • Interpersonal communication and language skills (e.g., listening to others, speaking to others, reading, writing).
  • Communication (facilitation skills and very mature communication skills to be able to communicate to all levels in the organization).

 

Mathematical Skills 

  • Good mathematical skills 

 

Other Skills 

 

Preferred skills

  • Six Sigma / Lean Certifications
  • E-commerce experience including starting up small to large volume solutions.
  • Experience in warehouse automation applications (Pick to Light, Automated Sortation, Voice Pick, conveyor design, etc.).
