As a result of the teams growth, we are now looking to appoint a Talent and development Specialist within the team. The main purpose of the role is to provide the HR Business Partners, and Operational teams a framework of opportunities that allows us to attract, retain and develop the very best talent. The role will be based in Manchester, Wythenshawe working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Some out of hours, and travel may be required due to the nature of the role)

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage and utilise the Apprenticeship Levy across DSV UK, ensuring we utilise this to the maximum potential aligned with development opportunities and initiatives.
  • Working alongside the HR Business Partners to understand manager capability, identifying risk’s and skill gaps to design, and support with delivery of training materials that will increase both technical and behavioural skills.
  • Build on an existing framework to create a solid development programme for all three divisions, to create the leaders of our future.
  • Work with group HR to manage Group E-Learning Platform, ensuring new employees are assigned the correct mandatory and beneficial training materials to support their employee journey.
  • Managing attendance of internal training programmes including our Young DSV, International Leadership and Onboarding sessions.
  • Support the Recruitment Specialist in building strong solid relationships with schools, colleges and other organisations that will support with the attraction and development of talent.
  • Prepare KPI’s and Statistics that illustrate the capability of our management teams.
  • Supporting the HR Business Partners and Senior HR Manager to ensure a solid succession plan remains in place for key critical roles throughout the business.
  • Undertake reasonable tasks as allocated by the Senior HR Manager and HR Director.

 

Experience required:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with autonomy to work on own initiative.
  • Strong ability to work on multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing the requirements of the business to deliver on time.
  • Solid system knowledge and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively to employees at all levels.
  • Good understanding of Apprenticeship and or alternative development programmes.
