Manager - 4PL Control Tower Performance Management

Purpose of the role


The position is established as the 4PL Control Tower Performance Management Manager for one of the world’s largest sporting brands. DSV Lead Logistics, as extended arm of customers supply chain, manages global air freight, ocean freight, road freight, sea/air, and Sea/Rail flows as well as local on-carriage plus destination customs clearance and in DC intake planning execution for this global key account.


This role covers Dashboard and KPI monitoring, Data quality & Reporting, and Budget & Procurement part of the global control tower teams based in centralized global shared service center locations.


The 4PL Control Tower Performance Management Manager is based in DSV’s Shared Service Center Manila and has a direct reporting line into the 4PL Global Control Tower Manager.



Key Tasks & Deliverables

Operational and Team Management:

  • Oversee the Performance Management task within the control tower (Origin and Destination).
  • Learn and Understand the task of the team
  • Prepare and Present performance report to internal and external stakeholders
  • Quality and compliance responsibilities under NDA / attention given to predetermined processes, SOPs
  • Request for required systems accesses and set-up of team members
  • Setup physical workstations
  • Maintain an overview of daily time records
  • Maintain all areas of Health and Safety relevant to the working environment & staff teams. Monitoring and organization of the Invoicing and Administration team operational activities
  • Organization of resources planning
  • Clarification of irregularities with team members and other internal parties
  • Escalation of irregularities to Service Support/Process Manager
  • Perform daily stand up meetings
  • Maintain action list and risk log
  • Drive continuous improvement of the team and related processes.
  • Work under the direction of superiors
  • Assist in training new team members
  • Assist clarification of instructions
  • Drive completion of process documents
  • Prepare & train team for the new process
  • Train team in the process
  • Help engage relevant support functions
  • Help collect operational baselines

Educational background / Work experience

  • SCM/ Commercial / Freight forwarding business education or work experience
  • Work experience in Service Center or Freight Forwarding
  • Background in Logistics Finance and Accounting
  • Understanding in Logistics Sales and Commercial
  • Quality / Process Improvement / Operational Excellence implementation experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiar with workforce and capacity management concepts
  • Understand Commercial terms and functions
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience


Language skills

  • Fluent in English is mandatory (written and spoken)
  • Local language


Computer Literacy

  • Excellent Know-how in MS-Office applications  
  • Good Know-How in web-based applications / Internet
  • Knowledge in Supply Chain Applications is a plus


Decision Making Authority

  • Self-organization of the own working space and the tasks assigned under the operational requirements
  • Responsible delegating of various tasks within the area of responsibility
