Job Posting Title: Senior Accountant
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Mesa, AZ team reporting to the US Director of Finance. The ideal candidate will be a strong and engaging leader, a strategic thinker who will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to create and implement financial policies, controls, reporting systems and procedures that will improve efficiency and accuracy. SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day tax and financial operations of the US Accounting Department. This position is responsible for the performance of all functions related to accounting, including but not limited to accounts receivable and payable; tax and financial research, analysis, filing and planning; weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and audits; and other complex financial, clerical and accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Post transactions to various ledgers, journals and registers
- Direct and oversee data entry for all US financial documents and make necessary adjustments if needed
- Maintain and organize all digital and physical accounting files by updating, filing or purging
- Oversee collection activities through telephone contact or correspondence
- Ensure vendor payables are recorded and paid in a timely manner
- Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and other necessary reports on a weekly and monthly basis
- Review all intercompany transactions and generate invoices as necessary
- Organize and file all federal, state and local income tax documents
- Communicate with Operations and guide what actions/corrections need to be done to comply with accounting guidelines and procedures
- Work directly with the US Director of Finance and Global Controller to prepare corporate informational reports, brief management on the company’s financial position, and recommend solutions to improve results
- Conduct periodic internal financial audits to ensure accuracy
- Reconcile report discrepancies and inquiries
- Support the US Director of Finance & external auditors by gathering requested information in a timely manner
- Develop and implement effective accounting policies and processes
- Assist with training department staff on accounting policies and procedures
- Complete all required tax forms and meets deadlines in a timely, accurate manner
- Ensure all aspects of internal controls are followed
- Remain current on industry changes and regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance/Business Management or an equivalent combination of education and Accounting work experience
- Three (3) or more years of accounting experience in a Large Accounting Firm

- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

- Strong tax knowledge of local, state and federal regulations

- Leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead a team as needed
