Control Tower Specialist
Summary
The DSV Control Tower Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing service requests from assigned customers with the goal of meeting and exceeding customer expectations while attaining key goals and objectives. You will work closely with vendors, LSP (logistics service providers), suppliers, and internal DSV team members to ensure customers’ service requests are fulfilled in a timely manner. You will be responsible for tracking shipments, load planning, managing inventory levels, resolving, and escalating issues related to the logistics operations of your assigned account(s).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and manages shipment bookings with carrier partners, including planning and controlling deliveries from Suppliers and to domestic customers from and into the Customer’s sites.
- Produces and manages documentation related to traffic operations to ensure compliance with necessary tax requirements, minimizing the risk of delays and/or penalties, and avoiding impact on customers.
- Executes Load planning and optimization strategy while capturing and maintaining accurate data into the system.
- Provides the loading plan and/or booking details to the Customer’s and Supplier’s shipping teams and manages load tenders.
- Monitors import and export operations with customs brokers at different ports/customs offices to ensure they are carried out according to procedure and without deviations or extra costs.
- Tracks shipments and communicates with customers, suppliers, and logistics service providers to ensure shipments are delivered on time and according to customer specifications.
- Provides remote support to customer teams including customer service, material planning, logistics and supply chain departments.
- Proactively anticipates and resolves any potential issues that arise during the shipping process, including delays, damages, and lost shipments.
- Keeps clients informed of changes and/or delays so that the areas involved can react promptly and minimize the impact on internal and external clients.
- Reviews invoices from logistics providers against authorized rates to ensure correct payment and compliance with established agreements.
- Develops and maintains positive customer relationships
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Project work as required.
- Works closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements.
Educational background / Work experience
- 2 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, customer service or related field.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Language skills
- Spanish (reading, writing and verbal)
- Desired but not required: English (reading, writing and verbal)
Computer Literacy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).

- Experience using transportation management software is a plus
