SUMMARY 

The Tender Manager leads and oversees the end‑to‑end tender management process to produce competitive, accurate, and customer‑focused proposals that support business growth and retention. The role requires advanced organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders and manage multiple high‑priority deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tender Governance & Process Leadership

  • Serve as the process owner for Tender Management standards, ensuring full compliance across all tender activities.
  • Lead tender analysis, define requirements, and coordinate task distribution to internal stakeholders.
  • Validate and challenge inputs received to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses, including structure, pricing matrices, clarifications, and deadline management.
  • Deliver high‑quality proposal packages to bid owners and/or EPS offices for final validation and client submission.
  • Assess tender opportunities and recommend optimal commercial and operational solutions.

Pricing & Data Management

  • Support and maintain pricing databases for transportation, logistics, distribution, and value‑added services.
  • Maintain tender profiling, documentation, and reporting, including monthly bid logs and records of completed tenders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Global offices for all Canada‑related pricing inquiries.

Market Intelligence & Commercial Support

  • Monitor and analyze competitor pricing, capabilities, and market positioning to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with Business Development Managers to support front‑end sales activities and pricing requests.
  • Recommend optimized or alternative pricing solutions based on customer needs and market conditions.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create, maintain, and update tender‑related materials (resumes, process flows, SOPs, organizational charts).
  • Ensure adherence to internal quality, health, and safety policies and support ISO 9001 / 45001 requirements.
  • Contribute to sustainability, safety, and risk‑mitigation initiatives across daily activities.

 

Ensure compliance with all tender management processes, internal standards, and quality guidelines. Quality, Health & Safety:

  • Supports organizational commitment to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 certification – Montreal location
  • Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.
  • Staff are required to ensure that their day-to-day activities embrace sustainability, Health and safety therefore reducing the impact upon the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of freight forwarding, logistics, or tender/pricing experience (Coordinator‑level or higher).
  • Experience with pricing or tender processes preferred.
  • CIFFA or equivalent logistics education is an asse
  • Dangerous Goods Certification, an asset

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership in cross‑functional coordination without direct reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication tailored to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret cost structures, commercial terms, and tender requirements.
  • Solid understanding of logistics processes and freight forwarding cost drivers.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines with structured planning and prioritization.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and resilience under time‑sensitive pressures.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to propose optimized or alternative solutions.

Language and Computer Skills

  • English is the principal language for this position, additional languages may be required in other locations. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft® Office Suite
  • CargoWise experience, an asset

 

Physical Demands     

  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Regular working hours apply for this position, at times, working beyond these hours may be required by business needs.
