Procurement Specialist- Buyer
Naas -Kildare
Mon- Thu 08.00-16.30, Fri 08.00-15.30, 39 hours flexibility required
€37.000 - €45.000 per annum
The Procurement Specialist, Buyer is responsible for managing all procurement requirements for assigned Suppliers. The position requires the Buyer to perform difficult and complex technical duties related to the procurement of equipment, parts, and services. The Buyer also prepares and analyzes quotes and negotiates pricing options.
What will you be doing?
• Partner with Site Leadership to understand business needs and support sourcing strategies
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to drive best value
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors while developing existing supplier partnerships
• Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including quoting, ordering, and expediting
• Monitor inventory risks, shortages, and backorders, taking proactive action to avoid disruption
• Resolve supplier, material, and invoice issues in collaboration with internal teams and Finance
• Maintain accurate supplier data and ensure compliance with internal procedures
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and participate in regular vendor meetings
• Run and analyse ERP reports, using data insights to support decision-making and improvements
• Track key metrics (e.g. delivery performance, quality) and drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Inventory Planning, Finance, IT, and Engineering teams
About You
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in a relevant field desirable
• Experience in a supply chain, purchasing, or related role
• Strong knowledge of purchasing and inventory control processes
• Proven negotiation and sourcing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proficient in standard office systems and tools
• Knowledge of QC/QA/inspection, technical documentation, basic maths/calculations, and electronic/mechanical measurement
• SAP experience preferred; proficient with MS Office
