The Business Development Manager / Assistant Manager drives growth for the Contract Logistics business through strategic customer acquisition, cross-selling, and market expansion. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, designing tailored logistics solutions, and maintaining long-term client partnerships to deliver profitable and sustainable results.
Working closely with Solutions Design, Operations, Pricing, and Regional Business Development teams, the position contributes to achieving the company’s revenue goals, aligning with global business strategies, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
New Business Development
- Identify, qualify, and secure new customers for Contract Logistics (warehousing, distribution, and value-added services).
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline to achieve set revenue and margin targets.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to prepare proposals and commercial offers that meet client needs.
- Conduct business presentations, client meetings, and site visits to build credibility and confidence.
Regional Collaboration & Strategic Alignment
- Coordinate with regional and global BD counterparts to ensure local strategies align with global objectives.
- Contribute to RFQs, RFPs, and tenders, ensuring proposals meet customer expectations and company standards.
- Share local market intelligence and insights to strengthen regional pursuit strategies.Cross-Selling & Solution Integration
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for cross-selling transport, brokerage, and supply chain services.
- Introduce integrated end-to-end logistics solutions that enhance customer value and retention.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers through regular business reviews and proactive engagement.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address concerns to ensure long-term partnership.
- Represent the company in trade shows, client meetings, and industry events.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare regular reports on pipeline performance, conversion rates, and market activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, commercial policies, and ethical sales practices.
