JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum 2 years’ engineering and warehouse experience
Minimum 1 years working in automotive environment
Industrial Engineering Experience in logistics environment: > 3 years
Advanced Excel and Intermediate AutoCAD skills: > 1 year experience
Warehouse Design and Costing
Must have general experience in the logistics industry
Must have experience in Lean / CIP methodology
Must have experience in Change Management
Must have experience working with MTM
Must have experience in Project Management
Experience in resource planning
Ability to improve supply chain processes
High work rate and quality of work
Customer relationship management experience: > 1 year
Ability to train staff in new processes from White collar to blue collar
Detail oriented
Ability to travel around in SA (if required)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :
Evaluate and analyze data, processes and material flow related to existing operations in order to identify improvement opportunities.
Implement initiatives and monitor quantitative benefits of changes.
Develop business cases for financial investments where required, including ROI calculations, quantified value, productivity improvements, etc.
Documenting, monitoring and communicating project timelines, milestones and objectives.
Follow disciplined change management process to ensure that implemented changes that are sustainable.
Problem solving facilitation and training where required.
Working closely with all client cross-functional teams on new projects, product launch, CIPs.
Training on Lean, Six Sigma & Change Management.
Determine headcount requirements using MTM methodology.
Monitor and report on headcount requirements over multiple operations.
Implement automation and mechanization initiatives.
Support major changes (tactical) within the warehouse with regards to processes, MHE, WMS, automation and mechanization.
Manage and grow junior/graduate/intern/student logistic engineers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible and accountable for implementation of CIP through related studies and other IE methodologies (5S, Lean, TOC, etc.). Lead a cross functional team to ensure implementation of projects.
Initiatives may include, but are not limited to receiving, issuing, picking, kitting, sequencing, slotting, design, planning, scheduling, benchmarking, team problem solving, layout design, measurement and improvement of KPI’s, automation, process flow improvement, VAA operations, Container/Case Pad operations.
Use data to analyze and identify areas of improvement
Use Project Management techniques to drive continuous improvement projects
Actively contributes to initiatives from the client
Evaluates and analyzes data, processes and material flow
Implement initiatives and monitor quantitative benefits of changes
Conducts training sessions and assists in coaching of employees on Lean and Problem-Solving principles
