The Operations Supervisor will:

 

Manage, supervise, mentor, and coordinate the operations and staffing teams, guiding their daily activities of materials movement of the handling, receiving, loading, unloading, stacking, order filling, shipping, and maintaining stock in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Provide oversight reviewing shipping or receiving orders, requests for movement of materials and products, posting work schedules and work assignments utilizing the Management, Supervisory and team leads teams from the local warehouse and branch teams.
Other job functions include, but are not limited to:
Managing and supporting compliance, security, safety, training and process improvements, systems enhancements, new customer on-boarding and service design. KPI monitoring, workload adjustments, priorities, manpower, coaching and counseling.
Collaborating with the K9 teams to ensure scheduling supports peak volumes to meet shipping deadlines. Managing the OS&D salvage of damaged or used material program.
Ensuring accurate and timely follow-up with all customers to promote quick resolution. Managing the physical condition of warehouse and equipment, ensuring work orders for repairs, and requisitions for replacement of equipment are managed timely by the team.
Assisting with the design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures for activities, such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring quality controls supporting container buildups for export cargo, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
Reviewing work processes, recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product or service, and suggesting changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
3 years experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
1 year experience in a supervisory role
Able to operate MHE
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and Power Point)
RF Scanners
WMS functions
 
Language Skills
English (reading, writing, verbal)
Business communication
           
Mathematical Skills
Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing and distributing client products.

Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job task in a timely manner
Good organizational and personnel skills
Good communication skills, written and oral
Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation
Participate in established cross training metrics activities with the opportunity to improve their knowledge in multiple areas/departments and be able to assist as a back-up when the need may arise.
Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-pace work environment.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Some college
2-4 years experience in a supervisory role
2-4 years forklift experience.
Current or prior MHE certification
