SUMMARY

As a Warehouse Management System (WMS) Application Engineer you are responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of our Warehouse Management System, RedPrairie Dispatcher.  This position fits within a larger global organization focused on delivering first class support to our customers and our business requiring strong cross shore collaboration and alignment.    This position is identified as the Warehouse Management Application (technical) expert (and/or other assigned applications).    This position requires some travel for new customer startups and direct engagement with the business and other end customers.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support new customer implementations either on site (travel required) or remotely as needed
  • Implement and deploy setups and configurations of new sites/new customers
  • Analyse the process dependencies, define and build the related application configuration
  • Support, deliver and maintain according to standards set forward
  • Identify, specify and build required changes on application, reporting and integration
  • Develop test plans, scenario’s and secure successful execution
  • Validate, test, and accept version/releases of software
  • Collaborate with (project) team members and key-users
  • Collaborate with soft- and hardware suppliers (internal and external)
  • Document the project and application landscape and configuration to secure that proper support can be delivered
  • Identify, report and follow-up on issues
  • Identify and consider core business requirements
  • Report development using different tools
  • Deliver application configuration and developments according to business/project needs
  • Deliver stable and quality application configuration and development which adheres to business needs

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of 5 years in IT (or IT equivalent) with 3 of those years working in a similar role.

 

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES

 

Computer Skills

  • Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications is required
  • Strong fluency in in writing SQL queries to include tuning and optimizing poor performing queries.
  • Experience in software development and fluency in the SDLC
  • Experience with EDI standards (e.g. EDIFACT, XML, ODETTE, ANSI X12)
  • Experience on middleware applications is a preference (e.g. BizTalk, Sterling Integrator, Websphere)
  • Experience with communication protocols preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jasper Reports or SSRS is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.  May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.  Hours can be extensive as well as occasionally staggered for multi-shift access.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.  The employee uses computer and telephone equipment.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.
