Senior Facilities Manager - UK & IRELAND

The Senior Facilities Manager is a key customer focused role within DSV Shared Service Department (UK & IRELAND) and an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual.

The successful candidate will fulfil a role that is, high profile, challenging, and provides a valuable opportunity for the post holder to enhance their skills in  facilities management. The role will also provide the successful applicant with a significant sense of achievement in delivering a wide range of services to the various DSV sites in the UK & Ireland through working collaboratively with colleagues.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director (Finance), you will be supported by the Site Managers and Regional Directors, carrying delegated responsibilities for H&S, as well as technical, financial and commercial responsibilities for significant property development projects.

Responsible for stakeholder engagement, performance management, assurance, programme management and issue resolution across all areas, you will have a duty to ensure that infrastructure related risks and issues are raised whilst pro-actively engaging with Directors as the representative on all infrastructure and service delivery matters.

Essentially you will be required to oversee the maintenance, security and contract management of DSV buildings and grounds within Health and Safety Guidelines.


As a Senior Facilities Manager, you'll need to:

  • Prepare documents to put out tenders for contractors
  • Project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of contractors.
  • Investigate the availability and suitability of options for new premises.
  • Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives.
  • Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.
  • Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling.
  • Ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation.
  • Plan best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organising of current premises.
  • Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies.
  • Coordinate and lead one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility.
  • Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.



This position will be based in Purfleet, however, you will cover the UK & Ireland
